How to check IMEI,Verification and registered Mobile Phones with PTA?

There are three ways to register mobile and GSM devices(Global System for Mobile Communications).

1. Via SMS
2. Via application
3. VIA website 

VIA SMS

In order to register this device write IMEI of your mobile and send it to 8484.

NOTE: Dial *#06# from your mobile Dial Pad to check its IMEI.

Via application

In order to register the devices via the application, download the application by clicking the photo:

1. Install this app.
2. Write your IMEI in this application search box.
3. Click the submit button.

It will show you after checking that your mobile device is registered from PTA or not.

Via website

To register the mobile phone through the website.

The IT Ministry will decided  new deadlines of blocking unregistered mobile phones.

Check Mobile IMEI Register your Mobile Phones with PTA before October 20, 2018:

Buy only those PTA compliant mobile SIM-based devices.

Please check the status of your mobile IMEI by sending SMS to 8484.

Non-compliant/related devices will not work after 20 Oct 2018. "This message states sent by PTA to Mobile users.

If anyone doesn’t received  SMS,

He/She can still registered this GSM device by himself/herself.

As per PTA only registered mobile phones & GSM devices would remain functionable after deadline and other devices will be blocked after deadline.

PTA has strictly warned people against buying unregistered/illegal mobile phones and GSM devices and using them.

You have to get your IMEI checked and registered your phone as soon as possible

Most of  Iphones are smuggled to Pakistan and it will be blocked after the deadline.

Since PTA asked all mobile users to registered their mobile phones with Device Identification Registration and Blocking System (DIRBS), launched in May 2018 before the deadline.The number of users have followed the process as Described above.

However uncertainty still prevails with regard to replies mobile users have received after sending their mobile phone IMEIs to 8484. Most of the mobile users have mistaken the reply “Valid” assuming that there is nothing wrong with it. However, the reply “Valid” doesn’t implement that the mobile phone is register with PTA.It indicates that though IMEI is registered yet concerned mobile phones needs to get registered by PTA.

In this case, a mobile user just has to make the Call or send SMS to anyone from his/her mobile phone before deadline and it will result in the automatic registration of his/her mobile by PTA.

But if reply is “Compliant” it verified that Dual IMEI as well as  mobiles are registered with PTA.If  reply is “Invalid” it means that IMEI of mobile is unregistered.if  mobile having received “Invalid” will though that still be functionable after the deadline.But only those network sims will work in mobile which was used before the deadlines.

Update December 2019: 

In recently days, there is a lot of chattered that the Government of Pakistan is considering Taxes from import of mobile phones.But the registration with PTA should be must and no smuggled phone should be allowed to be used in Pakistan.

Pakistan Telecommunication Authority has suspended its decision to block unregistered mobile phones after deadline and they will launch an awareness to educate the public about the implementation of the move.
